P-308 badging

By R. S., 26. July 2018, 04:07.
I have Onkyo P-308 "2", that have a gold badge in the lower right with the model # "P-308" but it doesn't say "Grand Integra" anywhere on the front. Having a gold badge the same as the gold badge on the amps, "M-508" which do say "Grand integra". What's the difference? Do I not have the matching pre-amps? I have noticed doing research that some P-308 have no gold badge like mine do. Just screen printing saying "Grand Integra" on the upper right.

Except for the mk II part, the difference is most likely nothing. As evident from the Onkyo A-G10 article on thevintageknob.org, the Onkyo model designations of the time were a PR mess. The A-G10 was the Grand Integra of integrated amplifiers, and in some regions it was just Integra A-G10, in others it was A-2001 or A-8990 - all names for exactly the same thing, but each coined to coax the feelings of desire befitting a flagship model in a specific demography.
