Compared to Accuphase P-370?

I used to own an Accuphase P-370. Although the rated output in terms of Watts was modest, the Watts were backed with plenty of current. The resulting sound was powerful and very controlled - possibly even a bit dry. Does this description fit the P-3000 as well, or did Accuphase make changes to the sound signature?
