Classé CAP-151

I loved my 151 but it now has blown transistors and is putting out DC according to my local hifi repair technician. I bought a 19 yr old Musical Fidelity A5 CR basic amp of similar vintage but with nearly twice the power as the 151? I loved the 151's warm, sweet musical mids & highs, good bottom end and easy to listen to long-termspind. But the A5 has clearly better spatiality. more atmospherics, airy but to a fault, and deep, detailed rock solid bass. I'm thinking of inserting a tube buffer in between my preamp and the A5 mellow out the upper mids or buy a Schiit Loki + analog 5 band equalizer or use the eq in the Spotify playback software. I think one or a combination of these alternatives might be a real solution. Any thoughts on my situation.? Thanks, Fishbrain47
