Why do these speakers cost $9k? Does anyone own them and think they are worth the money? A 5" woofer with built on 100 wt and a 3" tweeter with built in class d seems paultry. It's on sale used for $4k. I'm intrigued by the design. It looks like a knock off of Bang & Olufsen 19 which actually costs twice as much but with a real woofer and a real tweeter. Any Meridian fans out there?

I will not make a case for the M6 in particular. But one thing that people often forget when evaluating the value proposition of active speakers is that they actually replace more than your speakers. They also replace your stereo system, and Meridian does know how to create a quality stereo system.
In the end, the determining factor will by your love or not of the way that they actually sound and function. You must find a pair to listen to.
