Faulty player

Not reading sacd, just saying not hybrid

There can be a few reasons for this:
Hybrid player usually have dual laser heads, and that of course doubles the chance of actual laser malfunction.
Also the dual head probably makes alignment a bit harder. One of the lasers may require the head to move closer to the center of the disc. If any dried up lubricant makes this hard(er) it may not find the table of contents.
The SACD layer on discs may be more sensitive to rotation speed variations on the disc itself. Lubrication may play a role here also.
