STAX ED-1 MONITOR

Hi ,I bought this equalizer to use with Stax SRM-T1 and Stax L500 but after trying I have the impression that switch on the buttom ( diffuse field become green) instead to have e wider scene ,it became narrow and more high frequencies.
Can be that am I using in the opposite way ??? when I push and light green switch off ,the scene became wider .....
may you tell me which is the right way to use ??
